ABOUT Azrael
Ageless in appearance, early forties in human terms, Azrael is the architect of the unfinished Frameworks, the place where newly arrived souls were to be greeted, comforted, and routed to their final destination in the afterlife.
Tall and composed, Azrael has an understated presence that commands attention without effort. He isn’t intimidating. There is a kindness about him that is immediately apparent.
Azrael moves slowly and deliberately, rarely raising his voice. He carries the quiet weight of someone who has lived with regret for a very long time. Thoughtful and observant, Azrael studies people carefully before acting.
Beneath his calm exterior is the lingering knowledge that the system he designed has taken a turn in a direction it was never intended to take. The unfinished structures are a daily reminder of the project he put his own soul into and his failure to complete his vision of an afterlife that should have been welcoming, engaging, and a place souls could call home.

“I wanted souls to feel they had arrived somewhere. Not that they had been processed.”
