ABOUT Vex

Mid thirties in appearance, awkwardly tall, energetic, and meticulously styled, Vex desperately wants to look like a successful corporate executive. His hair is always perfect, and his wardrobe is carefully chosen to be both corporate and trendy, although somehow his clothes never seem to fit him quite right. A smartwatch constantly projects metrics and performance data from his wrist.

Vex speaks quickly and confidently, peppering conversations with business language, efficiency jargon, and the occasional term he may or may not completely understand.

More than anything, Vex wants to feel important.

He treats DeathCo like a serious corporate enterprise and himself like one of its most valuable employees, despite the fact that almost no one around him shares his enthusiasm. He tracks performance, worries about efficiency, and takes his responsibilities far more seriously than anyone has ever asked him to.

Dani frustrates him because she doesn’t respect the rules, the process, or, perhaps most irritatingly, Vex’s self appointed authority.

“Excuse me. I wasn’t finished being in charge.”
